The business that has become Abbey Memorials Ltd began in 1979 when John Spooner set out on his own after learning his trade as a stonemason. The business expanded to such an extent that his wife Tina joined the Company and between them they turned Abbey Memorials Limited into a highly sought after producer of affordable, quality memorials for the wholesale and retail trade alike.
John and Tina retired in 2016 after 37 years of commitment to the cause. The first decision that the new owner and the new manager took was to retain the existing workforce who had played such a key role in providing the service and memorials that the market wanted.
